Latvia continues to establish itself on the European scene! With a 6% increase in PDGA members and a 25% increase in PDGA events so far this year, it is rapidly closing the gap with countries with a slightly greater presence of disc golf, such as France, the United Kingdom, and the Czech Republic.
Despite having fewer than two million residents, it is home to regular competitors in major international events such as Rainers Balodis, Elizabete Pēkšena, and Sintija Klezberga
To continue supporting this growth, PDGA Europe met with Ingemārs Stalšāns, President of the Latvijas Disku golfa federācija https://www.ldgf.lv/en , and Gatis Rudiņš, PDGA Coordinator in Latvia, to review the progress of the Joint 2026 Action Plan, refine some of the proposals, and visit in person the magnificent courses at Pauku Priedes in Valmiera ( https://udisc.com/courses/disc-golf-park-pauku-priedes-Z86e ), which received a PDGA Europe Development Grant Fund to improve its facilities, as well as the Priekuļu Disku Golfa Laukums, which will host the Latvian National Championship this weekend https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/106388 (in the photo, with Ingemārs mowing the lawn for it).
Paldies, Latvija! 🇱🇻🇪🇺
